Mission Focus: Asylum Partner Family

Exciting news! NLC is now officially helping house an Asylum-seeking family.

Imagine a new life. Imagine being in a new country because you were not safe in your own. You are seeking asylum. The legal process takes an entire year. Finding a warm home for your family of four is top of your mind. Finding an organization who has their arms open to your family of a different culture would be a blessing. Just imagine.
We have welcomed our Asylum Partner Family from Russia.
Our hearts are full as we have graciously befriended a stranger.
This young family has two children under age four, one of whom requires heart surgery as well as ongoing medical support. With the support of many specialized individuals from different congregations, the family has been moved into a safe home where they can begin their journey in this new space. They are surrounded by a community of congregations who are working together to find the right path for their health, education, and support. Navigating a new culture and preparing for employment are only a few things that will be essential in the months to come.
It takes a village to help just one family
Ongoing support is needed. 100% of all support and donations go directly to the family’s needs which will include transportation, groceries, legal, health, educational, and social services.
