Young ones are a critical part of our congregational life. Their sense of wonder is a gift to us all. We believe families are the most important influence in a child’s faith development, so we partner with you to help your children discover God’s love and to live their developing faith in everyday life.

Questions about anything you see here? Have an idea of a great event? Contact Director of Children’s Ministries Lily Askegaard, she would love to talk with you about it!

Faith Markers

Age 3 – Grade 4

Milestones in a child’s faith life. Faith Markers help connect families to each other and to the congregation. As a beautiful coincidence, these opportunities also strengthen your family’s relationship with God.

First Communion

Grades 3-5

We extend a special invitation for communion instruction for families with children in grades 3-5, but also welcome instruction for younger children and their families. Whether this is your child’s first communion or your child has communed for many years, this instruction is a time to find deep connection in this sacrament of the Lutheran church.

It's a really fun and welcoming place. I like the people at Normandale, they make me feel important.

Normandale Preschool and Blessing Place

For the youngest members of our community, faith-based educational experiences are offered through Normandale Preschool (age 33 months to 5 years) and Blessing Place (age 18-33 months).
