Welcome to the Children's Choir Homepage!
Children’s Choir is meant for any singer in 3rd to 6th grade. There is no requirement of musical background to join. Children’s Choir meets weekly on Wednesday evenings from 5:45-6:30 pm and sings once a month in Sunday morning Worship. The goal of Children’s Choir is that every child begins to read music, builds on musical skills, feels confident in their ability to perform worship anthems, knows that they are loved, and feels welcome. Childrens’ Choir is directed by Lily Askegaard, our Director all Children’s Ministry & Music. If you have any questions, please contact Lily at Laskegaard@normluth.org or 952.977.9350. Meet your Children's Choir Director & Accompanist!
Lily Askegaard - Director
Lily Askegaard is the Director of Cherub Choir, Children’s Choir, and Children’s Ministry at Normandale Lutheran Church. She graduated from St. Olaf college and has a big passion for teaching music. Lily has worked at Normandale Lutheran Church on the CYF Team since 2020. When not making music, Lily loves to spend time outside- canoeing, camping, hiking, pickelballing, reading, walking the dog, sunset gazing, etc!
Angela Anderson - Accompanist
Angela Anderson is the Accompanist for both Cherub Choir and Children’s Choir. Angela has been the accompanist for Children’s Choirs at Normandale Lutheran Church for many years. She also teaches music to Pre-School students at the Normandale Pre-School! Fun fact: Angela also plays the oboe. When not making music, Angela loves to spend time with her two kids.
