CARE, hands resting on each other

Care at Normandale

Everyone goes through challenging circumstances, transitions, and difficult seasons in life. At some point in our lives, everyone needs a little help. We believe God's loving presence is experienced through people caring for one another. If you are feeling in need of care or support, do not hesitate to call on us, your church community.

The Ministry of Listening

Is Christ calling you to walk with people who are hurting? To listen carefully to their deepest concerns? To discover and develop your gifts for helping others? To practice a ministry of presence?

Your gift of listening is needed in Normandale's Stephen Ministry program to provide one-to-one Christian care to individuals facing life challenges. You are invited to the Stephen Leader Team for coffee and an introduction to the Stephen Ministry program on Sunday, April 30 at 9:30 or 10:30 am in the Lower Level Conference Room.

In this class, we will cover the following topics:

  • Overview of Stephen Ministry at Normandale
  • Qualifications for Stephen Ministers
  • Why become a Stephen Minister?
  • What does a Stephen Minister do?
  • Training: Timeframe & Topics
  • Service Commitment

Questions? Contact Pastor Dale at 952.929.1697 x353/dale@normluth.org or Dana Arnold at 952.929.1697 x355/dana@normluth.org for more information or to become a Stephen Minister in this class.

DivorceCare @ NLC

Thursdays for eight weeks, Upcoming Dates TBD
If you or someone you know is going through a separation or divorce, you don't need to go through it alone - support is available at NLC.

DivorceCare is a small group experience designed to help you face the challenges of divorce or separation and learn strategies to move toward rebuilding a new life. Each 2-hour session includes a video featuring top experts on divorce followed by a non-judgmental, supportive small group discussion with trained facilitators who “get” what you’re going through. This is not a therapy group; rather a support system for hurting individuals. The program is open to anyone going through the challenging times brought on by divorce or separation. Read more about the process at divorcecare.org
