1:00 – 5:00PM
leaving Normandale parking lot at 12:15PM

You may have lived in Minnesota a long time. You may even be familiar with “Bdote,” (confluence of Mississippi/MN rivers). But what do you really know about our Native American neighbors? About sacred places integral to their culture? Led by Rev. Jim Bear Jacobs (Mohican), this tour offers an exceptional opportunity to learn about Minnesota history from a Native perspective through a special experience of story-telling and reflection. For adults and older youth.

Sites include: Bdote including Fort Snelling State Park, Dakota Internment Camp following The Dakota-U.S. War, and Pilot Knob Hill, a traditional burial ground.

This tour is FREE, including chartered bus from church parking lot departing at 12:15pm (or drive/carpool on your own).

All paths are accessible. You may bring a chair or blanket to sit on the ground.
