Normandale Youth Choir 2018-2019: Registration Now Open!
Wednesdays, 5:30-6:30 pm
The Normandale Youth Choir is a mixed voice choir for singers in grades 7-12. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 pm, September through May. The Youth Choir sings at worship 2-3 times per month and is conducted by David Clarke, Director of Worship and Music.
A Youth Choir tradition is a biennial choir tour throughout some part of the United States. The 2017 tour took the Normandale Youth Choir on the road to Washington, D.C., and back. They sang concerts for Lutheran congregations in Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Indiana, and Wisconsin. When they weren't singing, the choir had the chance to visit many attractions including the National Cathedral, the National Mall, the Lincoln, Vietnam, and WWII Memorials, among other sites in Washington, D.C., and the National Aquarium in Baltimore, MD!
Join friends. Make music.

Liturgical Dance Group
Are you a dancer who wants to share your gift during worship? Liturgical dance in our community brings beauty and movement to the worship experience in ways that we cannot accomplish otherwise. Normandale's Liturgical Dance group welcomes dancers of any age to help lead worship through movement.
For 2018-19, the Liturgical Dance group will be dancing on special celebration Sundays in which the entire congregation will convene for one large and vibrant service at 9:30 with all choirs participating as well. Dance rehearsals are accomplished in a combination of initial, one-time workshops where the dance is learned and weekly follow-up rehearsals where the dance will be touched up and mastered. The celebration Sundays are September 9 (Rally Sunday), November 4 (All Saints Sunday), and January 6 (Epiphany Sunday). The dancers also participate in Easter Vigil worship, which is Saturday, April 20, 2019.

Rehearsals and choreography are under the direction of Colleen Lindstrom who holds a BA in Dance from Gustavus Adolphus College. As the Liturgical Dance program does not currently include technique classes and frequently requires the dancers to have the ability to quickly pick up movement and choreography, enrollment in an outside dance program with classes a minimum of once a week is required.
If interested in sharing your gift of dance with the Liturgical Dance group, and would like more information, including a rehearsal schedule, please contact Colleen Lindstrom at firstname.lastname@example.org.
